Our History, Mission, and Future

History Of Trinity Preparatory Academy

Deeply moved in the year of 1997, the Holy Spirit was instrumental in drawing the attention to the need of Wayne L. Rollen to begin a private school that would focus on ethical and moral Christian values and teaching the four core principles of academics: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Motivated by his undertaking, Wayne saw a grave decline in the public education process with our African American children and a downfall of the Black culture, he felt the need for helping a generation in distress. Until recent years, the vision rekindled; working together primarily as a volunteer established board in 2012, we began meeting and promoting the ideals of Trinity Preparatory Academy. Board members have maintained steadfast for the benefit of the children. We continue to thank God for the vision, passion, and determination of Mr. Rollen and we pray for his continued blessing on this new found academy of excellence and it’s members.

What Makes Trinity Preparatory Academy Unique?

Trinity Prep was established to reintroduce the tradition of learning with the four core principals of academics by going the extra mile: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social studies. The faculty and staff recognize the importance of caring for the need of every student by meeting the child on their level. This unique approach in composed three words that covers some overlapping territory to be effective, efficient, and proficient. In addition, our teachers are competent and capable of working in a structure well-organized way assuring that every child is proficient of being promoted to the next grade level and efficient by achieving their maximum potential that no child will be left behind.

Our Education Philosophy

Trinity Preparatory Academy is based upon the word of God, who operates in three detent functions as God the Father; God the Son; God the Holy Spirit. The primary objective and purpose of the school is to train the student in the way of life presented in the Scriptures while giving him and her a quality general education for life.

Since the primary reason for the existence of the Academy is a spiritual ministry, evangelistic efforts are made to bring all students to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ so that the teaching of spiritual truths may have a firm foundation. This is followed by instruction in right moral living, right thinking, good conduct, and clean living in the light of the principles of God’s Word.

We emphasize the mastery and methods of teaching by proven to be effective are utilized with a constant search for better methods. Recognizing each individual child’s gifts, by cultivating their talent, realizing the difference in innate ability, we encourage and expect each student and teacher to do their best.

Character training is an important element at Trinity Preparatory Academy. We believe that the heart of character training is obedience (doing right), that eventually will further cultivate an inner self-discipline, and is essential to the Academy Fine Arts program for the development of the child student’s emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. The teacher is the authority in the classroom. Discipline is administered firmly but fairly. To obey, to do right, to love God and humanity, and to always measure one’s attitudes against the principles laid out in the Scriptures are characteristics we strive to instill in each student, thus equipping him and her for their role in God’s plan for a proper place in society.

The objective in building a private Christian school is keeping the integrity of the Scripture imperatives—

Parents are the first educators of the first five years of a child’s life mandated by God to educate their children. Children are gift’s from God (Psalm 127:3-5). Parents are responsible to “train up” their children in the way of the Lord and not the ways of the world (Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4). God’s people are told from the Scripture, “Thus saith the Lord, learn not the way of the Heathen— for the customers of the people are vain…” (Proverbs 19:18-27). “Chasten thy Son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.”

A Christian school is an extension of the Christian home; the Christian Church in training young people in a Christian environment for the present, future, and eternity. The school staff will work closely with parents to train the whole child in the way he should go. Part of the philosophy of ministry that we hold to as the staple fact, that parents are the most important educators that a child will ever have. That is why we desire to work very closely with parents in educating their child.
